Age of Caseload
Harris County Criminal Courts at Law
Age of Active Pending Caseload is a fundamental measure of court caseload timeliness. It provides an assessment of how efficiently courts are able to process pending caseloads, allowing them to identify and respond to individual cases, case types, and broader systemic variables needing attention to ensure cases are resolved in a timely manner. Cases older than 180-days in age are considered part of the court “backlog,” and time buckets included in this report are based on Model Time Standards for State Trial Courts.
