Know Your Rights Housing Workshop for Landlords and Tenants
The Know Your Rights Housing Workshop for Landlords and Tenants* aims to help both landlords and tenants better understand their housing rights.
The free workshop includes a presentation on topics such as contracts, expectations, landlord and tenant rights, and theeviction process. There is also time for Q&A with attendees.
The program was launched in response to the continuing surge in eviction cases and appeals in the wake of the pandemic, especially as eviction assistance and moratorium programs ended.
It is offered by BAYOU City Community Court in partnership with the Harris County Civil Courts at Law, Neighborhood Defender Service of Texas, and the Houston Apartment Association.
Workshops are held at quarterly Fresh Start events. No registration is needed. Walk-ins are welcome.
